It's time once again for Muffin Tin Monday! This week's theme is ABC/Alphabet. My boys were up WAY TOO EARLY this morning, but I decided to make the best of it and put together this muffin tin breakfast. Check back at Muffin Tin Mom for more great ideas!

stART - Warthogs Paint

I'm trying to be more intentional about the things that Drew and I do together and found this wonderful blog link up hosted by A Mommy's Adventures called stART. I'm hoping that this will not only give me some great ideas, but will give me a schedule of sorts and some accountability and motivation to post our activities!

For this week's installment we read the book Warthogs Paint by Pamela Duncan Edwards. It's the story of a family of warthogs who are stuck inside on a rainy day and decide to paint. They start with the basic primary colors and then mix them up to make the secondary colors. It hasn't been rainy around here, but it's definitely too hot to play outside for very long.

We set up the easel in the kitchen and started with only yellow, red, and blue paints. Then we mixed up the colors to make green, orange, and purple. Drew had a great time painting and created quite a masterpiece!

Mixing up the colors
Deep in concentration, an artist at work...
The finished masterpiece

Muffin Tin Monday - Teddy Bear's Picnic

Muffin Tin Monday is a weekly blog carnival hosted by Michelle (AKA: Muffin Tin Mom), where families from around the world share "muffin tin meals" with each other. This is my first time participating, but is something that I hope to continue to do throughout the coming year! Maybe having something new and fun to look forward to each week will make mealtime less of a struggle.
This morning we read the book, The Teddy Bear's Picnic and had fun discussing the types of food that we would take on a picnic. I told the boys we would be having a special surprise for lunch today and got to use my new Teddy Bear silicone liners to make them their own "Teddy Bear Picnic."
Clockwise from the top: Strawberries, Swiss cheese cut into bear shape (used bear from this set), Ham cut into bear shape, goldfish crackers, grapes, Teddy Graham cookies
It was a HUGE hit!!

Check back at Muffin Tin Monday to see lots of other great ideas!!

Bloem & Grow Giveaway

I wanted to share this great site that I found through several other blogs that I read (ABC & 123 Learning, 1+1+1=1). She's a working mom of 2 who makes the cutest block sets!!! I've been thinking about ordering a set for each of the boys for the new playroom. Right now she's hosting a giveaway on her blog for a 6 block set. I, of course, would LOVE to win!!! There's lots of chances to enter (but the fewer of you who enter the better my chances are - just kidding - the more the merrier!) and the giveaway runs through Sunday, January 31. You have to check out her site and see all the great stuff!

Seriously, how cute are these!
They can all be personalized with letters or small words and would make such a great statement in any room!
